Judge can afford to pay his own legal costs

JUDGE Brian Curtin wants the State (ie, taxpayers) to pay his legal bill of €500,000 (Irish Examiner, March 24). Who is this man trying to fool?

Mr Curtin has earned €500,000 since 2002 - and this year alone, he stands to earn €149,000.

This man has no shame - lots of our taxpayers don't even earn the kind of money he does. Get this man to pay his own legal costs. How dare he even suggest asking the taxpayer.
