I WAS horrified by the article entitled ‘Puppy farming as it should be’ which outlined the Irish Dog Breeders Association’s vision for dogs as a valuable farm enterprise.

Why back something opposed the world over?

Apart from the impossibility of regulating such an activity, there is overwhelming evidence of a canine overpopulation crisis in this country.

Why on earth encourage more dog farms when the rest of the world is campaigning against them?
