Where are they now?

AS a member of the staff of ITEC Fermoy Ltd who last week received the devastating news that production would cease by mid-November, I wish to point out that no elected representative saw fit to offer support to the workforce during this difficult time.

At election time, these self-serving politicians promise the earth.

However, when the chips are down, they are very slow to support those who helped elect them.

With the exception of one councillor who offered advice with regard to FÁS re-training, all of the other politicians in the area - local, county or national - offered us no support whatsoever.

The contempt shown to the workforce by their elected representatives will not be forgotten.
