Acting in the name of decency

RICHARD MCDONALD (The Irish Examiner letters, August 3) stated some interesting facts which I cannot find in my dictionary.

Acting in the name of decency

I wonder which one he is using? In my book, democracy means everyone having the right to vote for whoever you want in order to form a government and being able to speak your mind without being thrown into prison or shot afterwards.

Decency in my book is not organising terrorists to blow up students in universities, or civilians on the way to work in buses, or shoppers shopping in supermarkets, or people celebrating in hotels, or children dancing in a disco. Another meaning for decency is blowing up those who organise these events, to smithereens especially those who hide behind their wives' and children's skirts; if they wish to risk the lives of their families in this cowardly manner, then the fault is theirs. May the Israeli Defense Forces continue to be decent and protect us who live here in Israel.
