Learn from education mistakes

I AM greatly satisfied to witness a growing debate surrounding the role of religion in primary schools.

Successive governments have allowed the Catholic Church to provide where both State funding and interest were absent. This is no more apparent than in Church-controlled primary schooling.

Primary education is a right and an obligation for all children. However, the Catholic Church, despite declining numbers and alienating scandals, still controls and influences the majority of all primary schools in this country.
