Constituents ignored

DAVID TRIMBLE'S outburst in the British House of Commons condemning the alleged kidnapping of a nationalist in Belfast on Friday February 19 is to be welcomed. This is certainly a first for Mr Trimble.

Even during the darkest days of the troubles, unionist leaders were curiously silent in the same House of Commons.

Now that Mr Trimble has embraced the politics of consent and equality, when can we expect him to engage directly with his constituents on Garvaghy Road in Portadown.
