Cancer patients getting less than efficient care

CORK University Hospital recently received the resignation of consultant oncologist Dr Oscar Breathnach, leaving only one medical oncologist in the hospital.

With no dedicated chemotherapy ward for cancer patients, they are being nursed in general and surgical wards.

As CUH is the only grade 1 trauma centre in the country, why is there no dedicated chemotherapy ward?
