ICSA - The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association - participated in last Friday’s ICTU march in support of Irish Ferries’ workers.
Why beef farmers supported workers’ protest

ICSA is deeply concerned that all sectors of Irish society, including beef farmers, are increasingly threatened by the trend to outsource labour and production.

It is vital for all strands of Irish society to stick together against the worst elements of globalisation. Just as it is wrong for Irish jobs to be sacrificed to unfair labour practices, it is equally wrong that Irish beef farmers should be sacrificed at WTO to unfair competition. Brazilian beef is being produced by huge ranchers who are exploiting slave labour and ruining the environment at the expense of the Irish family farm.
