Airlines pass the parcel on the Kerry carousel

IN THE week before Christmas I travelled on Flight EI 693 from Dusseldorf to Dublin where I had to change planes to RE 253 to Kerry.

At the check-in in Dusseldorf they told me that it was not possible to check in the baggage to Kerry. There would be no baggage transfer from Dublin Airport, and I was responsible for the baggage transfer.

This is a big problem for handicapped people and families.

I think it is unbelievable that it is not possible to transfer baggage between two Irish airlines (both connected in ‘One-World’) at an Irish airport using an Irish handling agent.

I asked Aer Arann Express and they told me it was an Aer Lingus problem. I asked Aer Lingus and they told me it was an Aer Arann Express problem.

At Kerry Airport they told me it was a problem between Aer Lingus, Aer Arann Express and Cityjet Handling Ltd.

For a mainland European, all of this looks like a children’s game.
