Gateways, hubs and speculators

CONGRATULATIONS to Ennis, Tuam, Tullamore, etc, for securing their places in the new spatial strategy. While the intention to funnel funding into these towns is welcome news, who will ultimately benefit?

Does the Government intend to fund local councils to enable the compulsory purchase of lands surrounding these new gateways and hubs?

Or will it act swiftly to prohibit the building up of land banks by property developers eagerly awaiting rezoning of lands to industrial or residential usage?
