It doesn’t pay to forget you’re on Dublin Bus

Has Dublin Bus lost the plot? Customers are now being charged €2 to reclaim lost property.

It doesn’t pay to forget you’re on Dublin Bus

This is utter madness and completely unfair. Commuters had to suffer a 9% fare hike in January, and now they are expected to cough up €2 to reclaim their lost property.

All items left behind on the Dublin Bus fleet are held in the lost property office behind Clearys on O’Connell Street. Customers have to fork out €2 to reclaim any item, regardless of size or value. People are effectively being punished for forgetting things. Is it really worth paying €2 to get an umbrella back? Where does the €2 charge go? Surely it cannot cost that much to run a lost property office.

I call on Dublin Bus to rescind the charge immediately.
