Team honourable in victory and in defeat

LIKE many hundreds of St Colman’s fans, I was in Clonmel on Saturday last for the All Ireland Colleges final against St Kieran’s. We were all hoping to see history made as Colman’s strived for a three-in-a-row of Croke Cups.

Alas, St Kieran’s shattered our dream. We were all disappointed but, of course, the team and mentors felt it most of all.

I pay tribute to this St Colman’s team who have done the college proud in 2001, 2002 and 2003. We have been privileged to see brilliant hurling from a brilliant team, which has been honourable in victory and in defeat.
