Cowen ignores anti-smoking lobby’s price call

YOUR correspondent Tim O’Sullivan (Irish Examiner letters, December 2) reminds us of the extreme bias of Dr Fenton Howell and his fellow-travellers at ASH.

Both Dr Howell and Prof Luke Clancy achieved incredible power during Micheál Martin's reign in the department of health.

Unelected, they seemed to be able to dictate both our national health policy and our social policy.
