The last prejudice

IT would seem that in our secular society the last acceptable prejudice is to scoff at Catholic beliefs.

The last prejudice

The election of Pope Benedict XVI has given great ammunition to knockers like Jaime Hyland (Irish Examiner letters, April 26).

Still, I doubt whether the Irish Examiner would print a letter belittling Buddhist beliefs on reincarnation.

I don’t believe either Cardinal Law or Cardinal Connell have claimed that any of their actions was directly influenced by the Holy Spirit, although I’m sure they both pray for such divine guidance whether in the conclave or outside.

They, like us, are only human, after all, and subject to human weaknesses.
