They do a top class job — without the tools
From my arrival by ambulance in the early hours to my departure I experienced nothing but kindness and professional competence. The ambulance personnel were helpful and caring and afforded me immediate relief.
At the A&E unit I was immediately dealt with and I was transferred to the coronary care unit. All this was done with the utmost care and competence. I was very impressed by every aspect of the service at the hospital, both medical and domestic.
I am sincerely grateful for their care and attention. It also brought home to me how frustrated they must be at the lack of basic equipment and materials.
There is no angiogram equipment and no resident cardiologist. It is time that the Government got its priorities right.
If it can afford an equine centre of excellence in Punchestown at a cost of 15m, surely it can provide basic equipment and personnel for its citizens.
