THE Minister for Justice, Mr McDowell, continues to refuse access to Garda files to the families of the victims of the Dublin/Monaghan bombings and of Seamus Ludlow, who was murdered by loyalists with British forces connections.

They are denied access on the basis that they are ‘confidential.’

Yet ‘confidential’ Garda files can be quoted by the same minister using Dáil privilege and on the front page of a newspaper.
