Where were the TV programmes featuring these disasters in recent days? They were nowhere to be seen as once again we find the Irish and British falling over themselves to offer the States a shoulder to cry on.

There was a national day of mourning after the tragedy last year in Ireland where, in terms of percentage of population, more people died in the IRA bombing of Omagh.
