Phone masts health probe welcomed

THE Irish Doctors’ Environmental Association (IDEA) welcomes the proposed investigation of the possible adverse health impact of living in close proximity to mobile telephone masts in Dublin city.

Since our inception in 1997, IDEA has had long-standing concerns in relation to the effects of this type of radiation on both the general public and a sub-group of the population who are particularly sensitive to it.

We are concerned that the safe levels currently advised for exposure to this type of radiation are based solely on its heating effects.
