Beware of fireworks

THE primary ingredient in fireworks is gunpowder. It was discovered in China over 2,000 years ago and used in various weapons to take lives.

Today, it still robs people of their sight, hands and fingers, leaves permanent scarring with serious burns and many regrets.

Those selling illegal fireworks should get no leniency from the courts.
