Nigerian double standards

THE decision

It is indicative of the double standards being applied in Nigeria and elsewhere that a blind eye is turned to the corrupt and illegal activities of the ruling elite, the military and middle ranking bureaucrats, many of whom have literally got away with murder and rape and wholesale theft of billions of dollars of aid money and yet they can hand down this barbaric sentence to a defenceless woman.

The civilised world cannot be other than outraged and the matter must be taken up at the highest level to protect this and all Nigerian women from their own judiciary.
