Churches can tackle famine

IF we had known what was to happen in the USA on September 11 last, and if we had then failed to do everything in our power to avert the disaster, it would have been criminal and sinful.

We know about Southern Africa. Well-publicised reports over many months indicate that between ten and 20 million people in Southern Africa face imminent famine and starvation. Many aid agencies, religious and non-religious, are doing all in their power but the resources made available to them are woefully inadequate.

Our various Christian churches, if they act together, have the personnel, resources and organisation to make a difference.
