Waste ruling shows we live in a dictatorship
It is plain to see that we live in a dictatorship.
The people of Ringaskiddy have said no to this development - and so have the people of Cork and the county council. Philip Jones, a senior planning inspector with An Bord Pleanála, was adamant when he said no.
The only one saying yes is Indaver, whose major stakeholder is the Belgian government.
This company is going to make vast profits out of burning waste from all over Europe while it is being aided and abetted by our own Government.
Make no mistake, the only one going to profit at the expense of our health are the Belgians.
All this could have been avoided in the first place if anyone went to Ringaskiddy and spoke to the local people who would have told them that this site was unsuitable.
They would have told anyone who would listen about the coastal erosion, the site being under sea level and the gas lines running through it (even Health and Safety did not know this).
Einstein once said a clever person solves a problem, but a wise person avoids the problem in the first place. I cannot see any Einsteins working for Indaver Ireland.
