Church’s dysfunctional teaching on sexuality is the real problem

YOUR columnist Rónán Mullen suggests the Ferns report presents a “challenge” to accept there may be a connection between child sexual abuse and Vatican concerns about “lax standards” in the Church regarding sexuality, “particularly homosexuality”.

On the contrary, could there be a more pathetic sight than bishops chasing after homosexuals in a vain attempt to avoid responsibility for a dysfunctional teaching on sexuality, and all the suffering that it has caused?
