Rossport Five put the spotlight on real issue

RECENT reports on the case of the Rossport Five from north Mayo have focused on the fact that, so far, the men have refused to purge their contempt of court.

In conversation with friends and acquaintances on the rights and wrongs of the issue, it appears that because the men have 'broken the law' many people will quell their own curiosity into the broader issues of the Corrib gas field project.

As a nation we are very selective in our attitudes to law-breaking.
