Support fair trade and a healthy environment
There will be a cakes and plant sale where fair trade teas and coffee will be served while there will be face-painting and Mervin’s magic show, which starts at 11.30am, for the children.
The UN environment programme proposes that biodiversity day be used to raise awareness of the importance of helping to end thoughtless waste and destruction of our planet’s resources, underlining the importance of biodiversity in ensuring adequate food and supplies of water, and in protecting the wide array of traditional medicines and modern pharmaceuticals that are based on the world’s biological riches.
