Bush profits from the politics of fear
Our president's attitude reminds me of a schoolyard bully who told the other children, "I can beat you up if I want to; it's a free country".
What I find extremely disturbing is that the man has a large following here in the US. He is called "'a good leader" and "a man of faith".
We even hear it said that those who disagree with our administration should leave the country, and that it is the responsibility of American citizens to support our president.
I believe that it is my responsibility as an American citizen to stay here and work to repair the damage.
Goering once said something to the effect that people can always be brought to the bidding of their leaders.
All you have to do is tell them they are about to be attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger.
It works the same way in every country no matter what type of government.
I hope we can prove Herr Goering wrong.
I imagine people in other countries can see the situation more clearly than those of us whose vision is clouded by a combination of fear and pride.
