THE people of Youghal came out in their hundreds to welcome the two Traveller brides last Thursday.

In spite of the decision by some publicans to close their doors to Travellers who were visiting the town for the wedding - perhaps even because of it - local people showed their welcome for the Travellers, much to the delight of the bridal group and the guests.

The Traveller Visibility Group is pleased to put on record the reaction of the people of Youghal who have not seen a Traveller wedding in the town before.
