Going nowhere

A FEW weeks ago Bertie Ahern announced the revival of the Easter parade to celebrate the centenary of the Rising in 2016.

Going nowhere

This was followed by last week’s announcement of a 10-year transport strategy, including a new Metro line that will run under O’Connell Street and a new Luas line that will run past the GPO. Given this Government’s propensity for project over-runs it now looks like O’Connell Street will be unavailable for the parade in 2016 because of transport works. Is this another example of Martin Cullen’s ‘joined-up thinking?’
