Americans should demand accountability

THE time has come for ordinary decent Americans to stand up and demand the same accountability from their government as the British people are demanding over the case for war in Iraq.

The nation which prides itself on being the protector of democracy, seems to be sliding towards a dictatorship under the leadership of George W Bush.

Questioning the case for the invasion of Iraq is viewed as unpatriotic. The motivation for launching an illegal attack on Iraq appears now to have been regime change and with it a very convenient control of Iraq’s most lucrative natural resource, oil.
