Irony in Nobel view of rights and democracy

I AM originally from Iran but have been living in Cork for the past 20 years. However, I am not a Muslim but a Baha’i and I came out of Iran just two months before the revolution in 1979.

Irony in Nobel view of rights and democracy

So Iranian lawyer Shirin Ebadi has won the Nobel Peace Prize I believe this is good news for not only Iran but also the world at large that Ms Ebadi has been fighting for the rights of women and children in Iran.

But I further read that she is proposing that there is human rights and democracy in Iran. I must state that this unfortunately does not exist in Iran at all. Since the revolution in Iran in 1979, Muslims have persecuted Baha'is in Iran due to the fact that Muslims don't recognise the Baha'i faith because our prophet came after Muhammad, but thought basically the same things.
