Mr Finlay’s casebook

Fergus Finlay's column (Irish Examiner, Oct 1) makes interesting, if confusing, reading.

Mr Finlay’s casebook

He suggests that those who are committed to sustainable economic growth, Europe, peace, the environment, neutrality, the dignity of people, the ending of discrimination, and the rights of citizen and consumer should vote ‘yes’ to Nice.

My confusion stems from the fact that all of these are the very reasons why I will be voting ‘no.’

And, of course, the other reason I will be voting ’no,’ and strangely not alluded to by Mr Finlay, is my respect for and belief in the democratic will of the citizens of the Irish Republic who have already made their decision on this matter perfectly clear.
