I am amazed at Ryle Dwyer's column (Irish Examiner, Feb 1) in which he advocated breaching the law

permitting foreign troops with weapons at Shannon.

Supporting the build-up for an unjust war against the evil Saddam, with the consequential loss of thousands of innocent Iraqis, is surely barbaric, and all this on the pretext of enforcing UN Resolution 1441.

Thousands of innocents perished in Afghanistan, and thousands more will perish in Iraq.
