Lawyer takes a cheap shot while failing to line up the real target
She took a cheap shot at me for the apparent safety standards in a photograph of a construction site.
This was not a Century Homes construction site because we are not builders but manufacturers of timber frame houses.
What Ms Twomey failed to realise is that Century Homes manufactures high quality timber homes under factory condition in Monaghan, Dungarvan, Longford, Cardiff, and soon to be in Tullamore. We are not, or never have been, a construction company.
What she fails totally to address is the very critical issue of how the system and the legal profession she represents play a significant role in the extremely high rates of insurance that companies and individuals in this country are forced to pay each year.
Maybe Fiona Twomey should tell us why does the system for processing the claims for workplace accidents take six times longer in Ireland than in Britain?
Why do legal and professional fees make up 42% of the total claims in this country compared to 5% in Britain?
The real reason is that the system is skewed totally against the small business and the individual.
The sooner the Personal Injuries Assessment Board gets up and running to award fair compensation to honest claimants, the better.
