Health reform view was ill-informed
The second report on implementation of the cardiovascular health strategy, submitted to the Joint Oireachtas Committee, summarises very well the remarkable progress made on so many fronts as a result of the strategy, accompanied by improved outcomes, over the last six years.
I also perceive similar improvements in the cancer services as a result of the cancer strategy introduced by the previous Government. One sees, if one cares to look, on a daily basis the remarkable efforts of very many people going about their work, quietly and effectively in all aspects of our health service.
Surely it is not too much to ask that media comment and reporting should be informed and evidence based.
