GOT a great laugh out of Michael Stokes’ letter (Irish Examiner, Oct 20) concerning the origins of Fianna Fáil.

Michael suggests that Fianna Fáil was established by “men with no arses in their trousers.”

While that may be true, Michael, by God you can be sure they had pockets in them. Sure didn’t Dev himself have the biggest pockets of all after his fundraising trip to the USA when he set up the Irish Press and installed his family as directors?
