Aer Lingus left me feeling high and dry

On three recent flights one from Brussels, one from Spain and one from London, all late in the evening I asked for a bottle of beer and was told that it was their policy not to serve alcohol on these flights.

I pointed out in each case to the pleasant flight attendant that it wasn't my intention to get plastered and hold up the plane, but that I merely wanted a bottle of beer.
