Attitude problem

AS I was waiting for a bus in a nearby village recently, I overheard the following exchange between two middle-aged women.

Woman A asked Woman B about a third party, and Woman B replied: “She’s away!” Woman A didn’t quite hear this, and she repeated her question, only for Woman B to repeat the answer: “She’s away!”

Whereupon Woman A laughed.

I worry for people with attitudes like that.

In particular, I’d worry and wonder as to how the growing appreciation of mental health survivors as heroes is going to impact on people like the two women I had the misfortune to overhear.

Rather like a high-velocity bullet to the brain, I should think.
