Attitude problem

AS I was waiting for a bus in a nearby village recently, I overheard the following exchange between two middle-aged women.

Woman A asked Woman B about a third party, and Woman B replied: “She’s away!” Woman A didn’t quite hear this, and she repeated her question, only for Woman B to repeat the answer: “She’s away!”

Whereupon Woman A laughed.
