Roy an astute manipulator of media

I congratulate your correspondent Liam Mackey last weekend for asking the most pertinent question possible about Roy Keane: why the shock?

Here is someone with a track record of foul-mouthed outbursts and bust-ups with people - why was anyone surprised when he and Man United, or rather Alex Ferguson, went their separate ways?

I have long been of the opinion that Mr Keane is a more astute manipulator of the media than anyone else around, and I include Alistair Campbell in that.

Come to think of it, maybe Clive Woodward should have brought Roy along on the Lions tour instead of Mr Campbell!
