RTE’s Prime Time documentary on clerical child sex abuse made for difficult viewing.

One thing is now painfully clear: only a state-appointed judicial inquiry will suffice to deal with this loathsome chapter in Irish social history.

The Hussey audit team is meeting with the bishops to discuss the remit of the tribunal. Would Justice Flood have sat down with Ray Burke to discuss the shape and nature of that state tribunal? On the evidence of the RTE documentary, the cardinal should resign now.
