The Meningitis Research Foundation is appealing for people with a wish to shed a pound or ten to take part in their sponsored slimathon.
It couldn't be easier just get sponsored for every pound in weight you hope to lose between January and March.
Follow a sensible eating and exercise plan to get rid of the weight and, along with hundreds of others, you will be helping to fight meningitis and septicaemia a parent's worst nightmare.
The slimmer who raises the most funds for the charity in the Republic will win a weekend stay for two at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin.
And everyone who sends their sponsorship to the foundation by March 14 will be entered into a free prize draw which includes a year's subscription for IMAGE magazine and five Laura Mercier makeovers with free product (available in Brown Thomas, Dublin, Galway and Cork).
As most cases of meningitis and septicaemia occur in the winter months, there couldn't be a more fitting time to shed the pounds for the foundation.
By taking part you could help fund vital scientific research into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia the blood poisoning form of the disease.
