Motorists should pay

WHY the constant whinging and whining about motorists having to pay tax? (‘Calls to scrap Vehicle Registration Tax as drivers are hit for €946 million,’ Irish Examiner, June 7).

For heaven’s sake, everything is taxed, so why should motorists be exempt?

If I buy a pint of stout most of the money goes in tax to the Government, but no-one moans about this money not being spent on pubs.
