Yet Damien McBride, no doubt, and his Hamas warriors, would still saddle up their warhorses to take the battle to the infidel (Irish Examiner letters, July1).

Wrong option, my friend. Israel too has been radicalised, both politically and existentially. It needs to be, in order to survive.
