I AM at a loss to understand the tales of woe and wringing of hands of those managing tourism in Ireland. Their tears over the lack of visitors, particularly our American cousins, does not sit well with the experience of two such ‘cousins’.

My sister and her husband decided to spend their last day in Ireland shopping in Cork city.

Alighting from their early morning train they set off with their ‘fists full of dollars’.
