Enda’s pulling power stronger than his rivals

I WAS disappointed with the lack of impartiality shown by your political reporter Fionnán Sheahan on the TV viewing figures for Enda Kenny’s address to the Fine Gael conference (Irish Examiner, Dec 2).

Enda’s pulling power stronger than his rivals

Mr Sheahan compared Mr Kenny's TV audience figures with that of Judge Judy, whose programme he described as "the epitome of TV banality".

Your reporter gave us the figures for the other party leaders, none of which exceeded the viewing figure for Mr Kenny. I do not recollect Mr Sheahan making any comparisons on those occasions. I feel it is he who is producing the banalities. Incidentally, while no official figures are available for the Sinn Fein leader's address why not? a spokesperson gave statistics which, if we are to judge from the history of this party, would be somewhat suspect.
