Ashamed to be Irish

I’VE just heard that the Government is permitting US forces to use Shannon for the attack on Iraq. I feel ashamed to be a citizen.

I recall a line from The Irish, a book by Thomas J O’Hanlon. “The American WASP has his stereotype view of the Irish character: you may be Irish, but you’re one of us.”
