THE claim

For a start, the total number of Palestinian killed between September 2000 and July 27 last was 1,551. But even this figure is misleading as it incorporates the 198 men who died at either their own hands as suicide bombers or in premature explosion of bombs in manufacture.

Of the remaining 1,349, 603 were civilians of whom 66% were men between the ages of 13 and 30.
