Slurry has made us prisoners in our own home
Unfortunately, we keep being interrupted by farmers spreading slurry. Suddenly we have to put our children indoors, grab washing off the line, close all windows and doors and become prisoners in our own homes.
Recently I took my children out to play but we had to return home again, change all our clothes and have a shower after slurry almost landed on top of us.
My brother, wife and young family work hard in England and come home for a week’s holiday each year. Last week, after a day out they arrived home only to be subjected to the same slurry treatment. I don’t think farmers should be allowed to spread this pollution especially during the summer months when people are trying to enjoy their well-earned holidays.
It is a basic human right to breathe fresh air and what right have they to take this away from us? Are farmers a law unto themselves?
I believe there is an alternative way, using pipes to deposit this liquid manure into the soil.
Why don’t they avail of it?
