Sort out our national priorities

IT is indeed a funny old world. I cannot speak for other industries but your readers may be amused to hear about my own situation.

Here am I, a fully qualified IT person you name it, I have the qualifications and there's no work for me in Ireland unless I am prepared to work for less money, building the Drogheda bypass and therefore working in the UK and paying UK tax and health insurance.

At the same time, my project manager proudly announced that TATA the Indian software house for which he works has won the contract to supply more than 200 staff to work in Ireland and complete a project for General Electric, which enjoys the low corporate tax rates we have here in Ireland.
