Invest in sport for our children’s sake

THE importance of sport has been hugely undervalued as a way of keeping children out of trouble.

Communities which have sporting facilities and local leaders are fortunate because children are motivated, occupied and acquire self-esteem in team sports.

The role of sporting organisations, particularly in the voluntary sector, cannot be over-emphasised. Those involved with them are the salt of the earth. All their free time is taken up with matches every weekend.
