Short memory

IN his speech to the Earth Summit on September 3, the Taoiseach described the decline in overseas development aid during the last decade as “shameful“.

This came only five days after his Government’s decision to further reduce aid to developing nations, bringing the total reduction to more than 40 million this year.

Does this show the Taoiseach’s disregard for the Earth Summit and the electorate, or is he merely showing early signs of the memory loss he will surely suffer in front of future questionings?
